Edmonton Green, Enfield, North London, Pavilion Festival '24: Short Film by Exploring Cultural Lives

Join us here on Exploring Cultural Lives YouTube channel to celebrate our latest community films. ABOUT ‘THE PAVILION & THE SUMMER ON THE GREEN FESTIVAL’ In the heart of Edmonton Green in Enfield, London, in the course of just over 2 months, we have been celebrating a very special event, ‘Summer on The Green’. This is a warm and inspiring cultural festival that is taking place at the Pavilion on the Green (a new outdoor cultural and community space designed in collaboration with local residents). To celebrate the Pavilion’s opening, Enfield Council organised this festival of free activities from 29th June to 14th September, 2024. It involves dozens of Enfield residents, many Edmonton communities and interesting neighbours of different backgrounds all with unique talents. The festival ‘Summer on the Green’ short film is an audiovisual production created by EXPLORING CULTURAL LIVES (@exploringculturallives) and it is part of the Untold Edmonton Grant Scheme; a memorable, inspiring and special cultural movement supported by Enfield Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. ABOUT ‘UNTOLD EDMONTON’ Untold Edmonton is a more than special cultural moment: A community awareness movement carried out for the community, with people from the community; about the incomparable past, present and future of Edmonton’s heritage. It is funded by Enfield Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. ABOUT ‘EXPLORING CULTURAL LIVES’ We have been more than two months working very hard (behind the scenes) to prepare a beautiful surprise for the pavilion & festival communities and for Edmonton & Enfield residents. We feel very proud of this achievement. Exploring Cultural Lives CIC was following the event to record inspirational parts of this community celebration. Our project was to make a memorable poetic documentary film involving our neighbours, Edmonton communities and Enfield residents with the intention to bring the community together. This is an authentic audiovisual production made for the community, and by the community. Our Exploring Cultural Lives community project is to unite neighbours, residents and local communities to build a healthy and enthusiastic ecosystem that perhaps would benefit Edmonton’s reputation. As a Community Interest Company cic based in London, we want to say thanks to all the people involved in this remarkable and memorable project, that was an extraordinary challenge. ABOUT ‘MOVIE FOR CHANGE’ Different from a cinematic movement. Different than a film style; The purpose of our community films are to highlight real life, including the forgotten poetic subjectivity of life itself. An audiovisual project made by the community for the community. Each film is an extraordinary challenge and a unique experience; A real movie for change, and the result, memorable. It’s an audiovisual project made by the community for the community. An original film initiative created by EXPLORING CULTURAL LIVES [Because giving new meaning is necessary] Production, cinematography, artistic direction and editing by João Giacchin.
