Alencar and officials entering airport terminal STORYLINE Brazilian Vice President Jose Alencar arrived in Moscow on Saturday for the start of a three day visit to the Russian capital. Talks are expected to be centered around cooperation the economic, agricultural, energy and space exploration fields. Alencar was accompanied by about 60 businessmen and members of parliament who, along with their Russian counterparts, will take part in the third session of the Russo-Brazilian cooperation commission. The delegation from Brazil also intends to discuss the provisional embargo on the import of meat from Brazil. Russia imposed the embargo after a case of foot-and-mouth diseases was registered in the northern state of Amazonas. According to Alencar "this embargo is pointless, because the foot-and-mouth disease case was registered in the state, which does not export meat."
