Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a muffin pan with non-stick spray or muffin liners. 2. For the topping, combine flour, butter, maple syrup, pecans, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice in a small bowl. Set aside. 3. For the muffins, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. In a mixer, beat butter and sugar on low until smooth. Add the eggs, then mix in the pumpkin. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients. 4. Fill the muffin cups completely, sprinkle with the topping, and bake for 40 minutes.
