Photographing Kingfishers - Mike Dunlevy Hide

In today's video I am photographing the beautiful Kingfisher at Mike Dunlevy's hide down in Shropshire. I came across mikes website just by chance searching for kingfishers, I notice that he did hide rentals at a very affordable price of only £95, so I decided to book a date down in Shropshire photographing the kingfishers. And what a day it turned out to be I got a total of 14 visits from the male and female kingfishers, coming in and taking fish from the water. My setup was Canon R5 with a 105 – 500mm lens, for photographing the kingfishers on the perch, down by the water I set up my Cannon R6 with the 24 to 105mm lens at f/5.6. I also had my Canon R7 with the 70 -200 f/2.8 lens and the 24mm f/2.8 for video. The day passed surprisingly quickly with frequent visits from the kingfishers around every 20 to 40 minutes with the male making the most visits and taking the most fish. If you're looking for a fantastic hide with plenty of visits from kingfishers then I was strongly recommend spending a day here it's a lovely warm Hyde and only a 5 minute walk from parking the car.
