Chauncey Billups Wins 2004 NBA Finals MVP as Detroit Dismantles the Lakers | Full Series Highlights

#chaunceybillups #nbafinals Thanks for watching! Thumbs up, comment, share. - Chauncey Billups Full Series Highlights 2004 NBA Finals Detroit Pistons vs LA Lakers - 21.0 ppg, 5.2a, 3.2r / 51-47-93 (%) Detroit stuns the Lakers, and the world, winning their franchise’s 3rd championship in a greatly unanticipated 5 game demolition of LA. Heading into the Finals, Shaq and Kobe’s Lakers were 12-5 through the playoffs’ first three rounds. This included a Semi-Final win over the defending champion Spurs. An Eastern Conference team hadn’t been crowned league champions since the 1998 Chicago Bulls. The East had been seen as “less talented” with a focus more on the physically intense defensive end, contrary to the West’s uptempo pace saturated with playmaking bigs and guards. The Lakers had minimal challenges with the Eastern Conference representatives from 2000-2002; Indiana, Philadelphia, New Jersey. Expectations were similar with Detroit standing opposite them. Little did the Lakers and fans abroad know what would eventually unfold. The Pistons’ suffocating defense, fine-tuned by their grueling ECF matchup with the Pacers, was on full display in this series. On the other hand, Chauncey was the one best providing production offensively. He did so in an extremely efficient manner, averaging 21 ppg while going 50-40-90. - All footage is property of the National Basketball Association (NBA). No copyright infringement is intended.
