PM Modi to inaugurate World’s largest office ‘Surat Diamond Bourse’ tomorrow

For the longest time, the Pentagon, which is the headquarters of the US Army, has been the world's largest office. However, the epithet was passed to the newly constructed ‘Surat Diamond Bourse’ in Gujarat. Encompassing 4,500 offices for national and international traders, the bourse aims to promote Surat’s thriving diamond industry. Built at a cost of about Rs 3000 crore, Surat Diamond Bourse can accommodate 65,000 diamond professionals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the bourse on December 17. The bourse is now attracting bigwigs of the diamond industry from across the country. The Diamond Bourse is expected to generate employment for 1.5 lakh people. The diamond industry businessmen are estimated to record an annual turnover of about 2 to 2.5 lakh crores.
