Performance Series: EZdrummer 2 Sample Library Comparison: Modern vs. Vintage

In this video, we compare the two core sample libraries available within EZdrummer 2, allowing you to hear both libraries applied to the same performance. The video consists of a series of short solo excerpts played back to back, first with the Modern Library, then with the Vintage Library. All performances were recorded and captured exclusively with EZdrummer 2. The MIDI performance data was then exported out of EZdrummer 2 and imported into Studio One 2 in order to configure the sample libraries using Superior Drummer 2. Each performance uses the BASIC preset from EZdrummer 2 as the mixer and FX chain foundation for both the Modern and Vintage libraries. The performances utilize different drum selections and tuning/mixer adjustments to achieve the desired sound. Additional modifications include velocity curve and envelope adjustments, all made within Superior Drummer 2 while using the EZdrummer 2 core libraries. All performances were performed using an electronic drum kit consisting of Jobeky Drums and Field Electronic Cymbals, all triggered through a Roland TD-30, then routed to a Mac Mini via USB. All audio consists of drum samples from the EZdrummer 2 core sample libraries. Additional equipment includes Billy Blast 3-ply Mesh Heads, DrumTec Bass Drum Pads, Hart Dynamics Hi-Hat Controllers, DW 9000 Double Bass Pedals, and hardware from Gibraltar, Pearl and Yamaha.
