I grew up on the doorstep of the wild lands of The North with the promise of adventure and excitement. As I grew older the adventures happened further afield, but there was always something about the north that kept me coming back. The cool Yorkshire air and the golden beaches of the coast always gave me the comfort I needed when everything else felt strange. I wanted to make one last film and homage to the place I grew up.
