These gorgeous watercolours caught my eye as the tubes looked so cute in that pretty box! And because they're just about the length of my thumb, they can travel with me everywhere my Sketchbooks go... With these little power packed pigment tubes I have some interesting things happening in the studio this week! Some of these watercolours have characteristics that make them stand out. If you have a look at their granulation properties, a colour like Green Appetite Genuine boosts those floral creations just perfectly! As I painted with these beauties, some of the pigments took me by surprise as I wasn't prepared to manage these subtle shifts in texture on the paper. But I did end up loving them & had a pretty awesome experience with the granulation process. While I painted with the Jean Haines Master Artist Set, I instantly felt inspired by the purity of the colour collection she brought out. looking up to an artist like Jean has inspired me greatly during my own self-mastery phase. Letting go of perfection in this process isn't always easy, but that "redo" process gives our creative minds a way to embrace imperfection & do those art practices as part of our mindful lifestyles... Not driven by perfection but by the love of creative expression. Experimentation with different surfaces, a few brushes & of course a set of watercolours helps to bring in a level of depth sometimes missing in our regular colour choices. Today I'd like to encourage creative friends to paint often. Don't hoard those cute tubes of paint & don't shy away from imperfections... Never feel guilty about the variety of paint palettes you may own but make use of them regularly! Want to check out the "Meet me in the Studio Playlist", then here it is!
