My upcoming gig requires a live video projection that is about 100 metres away. So I went to the electronics store at Sim Lim Tower to get myself the right equipment. https://www.videolane.com/multicamera/ ▶︎ • Testing my new HDMI Extender (120m) a... It is known that HDMI cables transmit up to 15 to metersres before signal degradation. I have a choice to go wireless or use an ethernet cable to transmit the HDMI video. Wireless is out of the question because the camera and projector are in different rooms. Ethernet cables can transmit digital signals over longer distances but I need converters. I need to convert the camera end from HDMI to ethernet and then back again at the projector end. They call this the HDMI Extender and it comes in a pair, a transmitter, and a receiver. The transmitter goes to the camera end and the receiver end goes to the projector. One more thing, we will need to send the same video to another room too! Very tricky! For that, we need to split the video signal into 2 paths using the HDMI Splitter. I bought three HDMI Splitters because the whole setup is a little more complex. Watch the video and let me know what you think or how I can improve the system. Adrian Lee VIDEOLANE.COM
