Like the title says, this clip is of a three Deltic convoy passing Mills Hill in a torrential rain shower. On it's way back home from it's stay at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway 55022 "Royal Scots Grey" was dragged to Barrow Hill where Deltic 22 picked up two fellow Deltics and returned to the East Lancashire Railway ready for this weekends Deltic Gala Weekend. Running an hour late, on one engine and running behind a slow pacer service the single light appears in the distance through the rain, then the domino appears and the convoy nears a red signal which clears in time and allows the convoy to keep a bit of speed as they pass... Unlike my now infamous video from last year, two Deltic's were already at the ELR and this meant the convoy would only be the three remaining locomotives. Also unlike the previous video instead of a cold but mildly damp day we have a torrential rain shower, below is a link to my video of some 47s passing Mills Hill shot from the same spot on the platform in good weather, feel free to check it out and how much the rain cuts visibility. Just after the convoy passes another wave of rain cuts across which I honestly think adds a bit more to the video. The formation today was 55022 - Royal Scots Grey 55019 - Royal Highland Fusilier 55002 - Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry The official working was 0Z55 Barrow Hill to Bury E.L.R The clip below is of a pair of 47s shot from the same spot in good weather for comparison. • 47270 & D1501 at Mills Hill - 21 Augu... The clip below is my now infamous shot of the Five Deltic Convoy last year. • Five Deltic Convoy Passes Stalybridge... Best experienced in 1080 with the sound way up.
