Forest Hills part two • More Amazing Homes • Queens, NY • 6/17/23

Since my first Forest Hills video seems to be popular and steadily viewed, I thought I’d cover some more of the area. I started at the LIRR station (built in 1906) and the unique red brick Station Square, a historic Tudor town center, which features the Forest Hills Inn and some eateries. I rolled through some more of the private neighborhood not shown in my previous video and segued into the non-private part of the neighborhood, where the houses are smaller, but the interesting variety of architecture and beautiful landscaping is still very noticeable. People really take care of their properties which is admirable. I went over to Metropolitan Avenue onto the outer edge of the area and you’ll see the popular vintage themed Eddie’s Sweet Shop, who specialize in jumbo sundaes with homemade ice cream. I also passed by the West Side Tennis Club, which includes Forest Hills Stadium. You can see a line of mainly girls, waiting early to get in for a concert by Boygenius. Around the stadium I circled back, since as you continue west it becomes the Rego Park neighborhood. I went under the LIRR tracks and passed thru the Austin Street shopping strip, which is all businesses and food spots, over to the main drag of Queens Boulevard. This gives you an idea how much the peaceful residential neighborhood in my videos is so tucked away from the hecticness of everything else. If you cross the boulevard, it’s still Forest Hills, but mainly just apartment buildings that all look similar. Even so, it’s well maintained and clean. Queens has a lot of cool stuff to check out. There’s so much to see in this neighborhood alone, especially if you like nice houses. Good food options, a variety of shopping, music events and random things to do. It’s easy to get to by train, bus or car, and even by bike. If you’re able, definitely pass thru and see for yourself!
