Kettles, water-bottles and mugs! I love kettles, but there needs to be a practical reason for one to find a permanent place in my backpack. I'm not going to carry one just because it's purty. (Speaking of purty, I show off both versions of the Eagle Products Norwegian Kettle, a thing of beauty.) Also, we can't have a full discussion about backpacking kettles without also discussing the type of water-bottle and mug you're carrying, because you don't want pointless redundancy, you want gear that compliments each other. When it comes to backpacking, or bushcraft gear, your options today are more abundant than ever before. There are certainly fancier (that is, more expensive) titanium options available these days. Too many offerings in titanium are crap and have very little thought put into them. In this show, I tell you why I'm sticking with the BCB British (NATO) Osprey Pattern 58 bottle and stainless steel NATO Crusader Cup. In the process, we take a really close look at the coveted Keith Titanium Ti3060 Canteen Mess Kit, an over-praised, overpriced piece of crap, in my opinion. Why spend such money on trash? Take that money and get a really fantastic water-bottle and mug combo instead, for less. The one I'm loyal to is perfectly designed and robust enough to pass down to your grandkids.
