Please check model numbers that it works with) Sometimes the switch goes bad or the rubber on filter does not push it in all the way. I am showing the way I repaired my Dyson DC35 that would not turn on by bypassing this switch. It will not harm the motor unless you run it without a filter in it. DO NOT DO THIS! I didn't want to pay Dyson the fees they charge (^^^^^) to repair it their way. I did some scouring on the internet for Dyson handheld vacuum repairs and came up with this repair. The guy did not show a step by step so I figured I would, in hopes that it could help someone out. These vacuums are great and pretty expensive, no need for a pricey repair on top of all that.
