Minecraft Parkour Spiral Multi-Segment Speedrun in

With this speedrun, I intended to show how fast a human could complete Parkour Spiral, with nearly perfect execution and the most optimal route possible. Of course, this speedrun is not perfect, but I tried my best ! :) GLITCHES / TRICKS USED : ALL of these glitches are legit (everyone can do them), and were performed in Minecraft 1.12. I didn't use ANY cheats in this video. The only mod used is Optifine. damage tick jump boost : I mostly used this glitch while on fire, to perform 1.5 blocks-high jumps. For example to get on/over fences or slabs. I also used cactus damage at the beginning. You just need to jump at the right moment. Once you have the timing, it's not that hard. It's an exploit I used in my single segment speedrun. This glitch can also be used to do 2 blocks-high jumps, but I didn't do any of them , because I still don't understand how it works, even after trying for hours. It seems totally inconsistant and litteraly random (it does not even seem to be tick perfect precision). I could probably have saved almost a minute on this run if I had done all the 2 blocks-high jumps that could save time, but it's random, boring (to do and watch), it skips many interestings shortcuts and I was afraid for my mental health... Reduced burning time : You may not have noticed this one, I don't know if you can even call that a glitch. It's performed twice in the run, but not in the same way. Basically what this glitch does is reducing the time you stay on fire after touching lava. The first time it's used is at 2:33 : I just slightly touch the lava block, turn around and leave at the right moment. The « right moment » also seems pretty random. You know you succeeded in doing the glitch if the fire animation very quickly flickers when you leave. In the video it's very subtle, but you can definitely see the fire animation disappearing and reappearing really fast (usually it's more visible). After that, you can clearly notice that the time I remain being on fire is lower than normal. This allows for little timesaves because fire slows you down. The second time I use it is at 5:18. I take fire damage without being in the lava because the block I stand on is just a little lower than a normal block (by a pixel). There's nothing really specific to do to reduce the burning time, you just need to make sure you take at least 2 fire damage ticks. slime jump damage boost : This one is used a lot throughout the run. I've never seen anyone doing it but I checked and it's NOT a cheat or anything related to a mod. It's pretty hard to explain how to do it. First, you can only do this glitch if the slime block is surrounded by other solid blocks (if it has adjacent blocks in the y axis). What happens is I land on the boundary of the slime block, which makes me take damage but also sometimes jump higher than I would normally if I landed correctly on the slime block. I found a trick to get the additionnal height boost more consistently. I'll try to explain it, but first, how to fail it : I'll call « last block » the block from which you jump towards the slime block. The trick will ALWAYS fail if you don't jump right at the edge of the last block. If you watch closely, you can see that every time I land on the last block, I jump when i'm on the extreme edge (yeah it doesn't make sense but it works). Another thing I noticed, is that it seems you need to have a certain amount of speed on either the x or z axis before landing on the edge to gain the boost. That's why I took this weird momentum at 4:51. If I had jumped from one of the leaves block right above the slime block, it wouldn't have worked. EDIT : The previous hypothesis is wrong. Slime glitches are possible even with very little speed. The best way I found to be consistent at doing this glitch is simply to try to find the best setup for each one of the slime glitches. Of course you can only do it if the last block is high enough so you take fall damage when jumping from it. I hope that was clear (probably not:p). If somehow someone knows this glitch and knows a better setup, I'd be glad to know it. slab / stair boost : This trick consists in pressing the jump button right before getting on a slab. You'll get much faster on the slab / stair. Done on several slabs / stairs consecutively, you can increase your speed tremendously. The other property this trick has is that it « cancels » your trajectory. What I mean is that right after a slab boost, you can turn around much faster than normal. I don't think there's any moment in the speedrun that clearly shows that, but it's useful to know.
