Autodesk Fusion Tutorial: Form Modeling Project for Students – Create a Coffee Table In this Autodesk Fusion tutorial, we’ll walk through an exciting project perfect for students and beginners: designing a coffee table using both the solid modeling and form modeling tools. We’ll start by working with two internal components – the legs and the tabletop. Using construction geometry and referencing standard coffee table dimensions, we’ll shape the arc that forms the legs. The Autodesk Fusion Form tools will help extrude the surfaces with symmetrical accuracy to keep the model centralized. We’ll explore how to use commands like Thicken to adjust the leg design, and I’ll share my favorite shortcuts to save time while avoiding ergonomic issues. The tutorial also covers the Rotate Move Type tool for precise placement of rotated components, and how to efficiently manage copies for future changes. Along the way, you’ll learn tips on using the "All" option for extrude cuts, and why I sometimes opt for over-extrude cuts instead. By the end, we’ll finish with a fillet on the tabletop for a cohesive design, while leaving helpful notes in case you revisit your model. This project is a great way for students to explore Autodesk Fusion’s form modeling features while improving design efficiency. Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe for more content like this!
