A Brief View of Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College Swabi Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College is the ever first cadet college of its kind that has been named after a national hero, Sher Khan, who sacrificed his life, while fighting for the sacred cause of defending his nation. In order to commemorate the nobler soul of this son of soil, the construction of the college was announced by the then chief of army staff, General Pervez Musharraf back in 2001. The KP government took the initiative of planning and the acquisition of land for the construction of the college after approval from the federal government. Within a short span of time the college was constructed and started its first academic session in 2011. It is located in village Ismaila near the native town of Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed (NH). It is situated on the main Mardan-Swabi Road, approximately midway between Mardan (23Km) and Swabi (25 km). The founding Principals, brigadier Zafarullah Khan and brigadier Faqir Riaz gave a remarkable start to the institution, which was carried out by successive principals, teachers and the Sherians. The site of the college is enchanting in itself, offering a vibrant, natural, healthy and a congenial environment in a sprawling park-like setting for the optimal development of mind, body and soul. The number of buildings of the college which stand as the most elegant and symbolic educational institution of the present times are spread over an area of 414 Acres (3312 Kanals) There are two academic blocks, an administration block, an auditorium, a splendid library, and six hostels for students, messes, a café, residence for teaching and administrative staff, a horse riding club and various sports grounds. All the six houses which accommodate almost six hundred cadets are comfortable, well-furnished and equipped with all the basic facilities. It is indeed, a college so intrinsic to its design and location which shall remain a source of pride and honor for a child throughout his life. Personal development is the name of activities that improve self-knowledge and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital and employability, enhance quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and aspirations. The development of a student’s personality takes place in the context of institutions. It is the formal and informal activities that refer to the methods, programs, tools, techniques and assessment system framed for an individual’s development. Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College has also emerged as one of the prestigious institutions that holds the highest priority of developing a wholesome personality of the cadets. It is executed to ensure adequate allocation of the activities, the cadets are engaged in. The cadets are being monitored round the clock to make certain that they are propelled to be the best version of themselves, both as learners and people.
