Speaking at a press conference, festival jury members shared their views on the event's contribution to cultural and cinema exchange and development. “We hope with the platform of the BRICS Film Festival, we will be able to promote cooperation and exchanges of film between China and Russia, India, Brazil, Iran, Egypt and other countries,” said one of the jury members Chinese film critic Zhao Shuguang. "We get to exchange and know each other better and understand each other's preciousness and values better when we get to watch each other's stories," said another jury member Florence Masebe, an actor from South Africa. The BRICS Film Festival - which is hosted by the rotating presidency of the BRICS countries each year - is part of the 46th Moscow International Film Festival. Its screening programme includes eight films - from Russia, India, China, Brazil, Iran, South Africa and Egypt. More than 70 western movies will be on display at the Moscow International Film Festiva, which runs until the 26th April.
