The entire Ajodhya hills have various sightseeing places like springs, lakes, dams, forests and beautiful villages. Below is the description of the places to visit in Ajodhya Hills. Turga Falls : ---------------- Turga is a small quaint hamlet in Purulia. The Turga Waterfall over here is of rare beauty. It seems like it’s flowing down from the clear blue sky. Turga is an unexplored yet picture- perfect destination. Turga is situated on the way from Bagmundi to Ajodhya and appears as a spot splashed with different colours. Bamni Falls : ---------------- Bamni Falls is a waterfall located at the heart of Ajoydha Hill and is a a must visit place for the tourists. It provides natural beauty and mental peace to the tourists who visit it. The sound of flowing water is all that can be heard. The water, making its way around, over andthrough the rocks, makes a beautiful noise. Green bushes cover the hill where large rocks are not exposing themselves. Below the bushes are signs of erosion where the flowing water has carried the dirt down the hill. Marble Lake : ----------------- The surreal ambiance created by the Tarpania Lake (locally known as Marble Lake) which was once an open-pit mine is presently, one of the most sought attractions of the region.It is said that while the 4th largest hydroelectric power project was being constructed and the surroundinghills were blasted for the purpose, one suddenly discovered this lake in the middle of nowhere. Maybe, water gushing from underground due to rock blasting gave rise to this lake. Murguma View point : ---------------------------- Murgama View Point is a very beautiful tourist spot.From here can enjoy the entire Murgama Dam and its surrounding scenery which will fill the tourists with endless joy. From now on can enjoy the beautiful sunset. Mayur Pahar : ----------------- Located on the top of Ayodhya Hill, there is a watch tower that offers a beautiful view of the entire Ayodhya Hills. Sita kunda : --------------- Sita Kund is located in Bagandi village under Ajodhya Gram Panchayat of Baghmundi Block in Purulia District of West Bengal. Sita Kund is a place associated with the classic Ramayana. According to Hindu mythology, Rama and Sita came to the hills of Ayodhya and stayed in their exile. Sita was thirsty and Rama pierced an arrow through the clay crust of the earth and springs and streams of that primordial fresh water came forth. Sita quenched her thirst. The place is known as Sitakunda. Tundra people drink the water of Sita Kund before going hunting as they consider Sita Kund as a holy place for them. Ram mandir : ----------------- A beautiful Ram mandir or temple has been built by local people just 500 meters away from Sita Kund. Ordinary people perform namaz at both places consecutively. Upper dam : ---------------- This Upper dam creates a lake more than a kilometer long, which is also the major source of water in these arid regions. The lakeside road is one of the best spots to catch the sunset over the Ajodhya Pahar. The Purulia Pumped Storage Project is a pumped storage hydroelectric power plant, located at Purulia district of West Bengal, India. The Ajodhya Hills offered suitable terrain for construction of upper and lower reservoirs. The scheme can supply a maximum power of 900-megawatt (1,200,000 hp). Lower dam : ---------------- Though smaller in size this Lower Dam Lake is tucked within the hills and is very scenic. A viewpoint on the road over this reservoir gives a sweeping view of the lake and the towering hills.
