FIVE STAR BARS - Bonita's Kitchen

Welcome to Bonita's Kitchen! Today we will be making FIVE STAR BARS. See recipe posted below! " My childhood favourite bar! To view & download the full recipe, please view it here on our website: www.bonitaskitchen.com "cookbooks www.bonitaskitcken.com/cookbook " Ingredients: 2-1/2 Cups graham crackers crumbs, 1/2 Cup butter or margarine, melted 1 Can condensed milk 2 Cups unsweetened coconut 1/4 Tsp sea salt 1 Bag unsweetened chocolate chips or chucks 1 Tsp Vanilla Method: In a large bowl add graham cracker crumbs, melted butter or margarine, condensed milk, seas salt, unsweetened coconut and vanilla. Toss together until all ingredients are combined and ready to use. In a square baking pan of choice, add a piece of parchment paper to bottom and add all of the mixture. Press down in pan evenly and prepare the oven to 350ºF and after its ready put pan in oven and set the timer to 15 to 20 minutes. Depending on your oven. When baked turn oven off, then remove pan from oven and toss chocolate chips or chucks over the top, place back in the oven for 2 minutes just to soften the chocolate, then remove from oven and spread chocolate evenly over the top. “ Or melt chocolate in microwave and pour over top” what works for you. Set aside and let pan cool to room temperature before cutting then into squares, or size of choice. These FIVE STAR BARS can be stored at room temperature while serving them, and kept in a container with lid for storage in fridge or freezer. Freeze them for longer storage and to keep then fresh.
