Extra 20 temples#15 Hashikura-ji ●About this temple Kobo Daishi visited this temple in the fifth year of Tencho. Upon receiving the oracle of the god Konpira, the principal image was carved and enshrined on this mountain, and this temple was founded. Since then, it has become the center of the Konpira faith as ``Konpira Okunoin'', carrying on the lantern for more than 1,000 years. There are many memorial services such as the Star Festival, spring and autumn festivals, but among them, the ``Chopstick Memorial Service'' is known throughout the country. In around 2004, six buildings, the main shrine, Gomaden, Hojo (honbo), Yakushido, bell tower, and Tenjin Shrine, were designated as nationally designated important cultural properties, and Kannondo was designated as a tangible cultural property by the prefecture. In July 2011, four items, the Takatoro, Niomon, Chozuya, and Chumon, became registered tangible cultural properties of the country. ●Point to watch around In front of Gomaden, you can see a pair of stone lanterns donated by the 8th generation Danjuro Ichikawa. In 2019, since the number of stone steps from the Gomaden to the main shrine is the same as the number of characters in the Heart Sutra, the "Heart Sutra Ascendant Steps" were created, with the characters of the Heart Sutra placed on each step. ●Notes ・Goma prayer A total of four special Goma are held during the three days of the New Year. Normally, Goma is practiced twice every day in the morning and evening. Monthly Goma is also held during the day on the third Saturday of every month. This is said to be a tradition since its founding. "Goma" refers to Bonyaki or burning fire, and especially in Esoteric Buddhism, it refers to setting up a fire pit and burning milk wood and offerings to pray to the principal image. Pray for believers to prosper in business, safety at home, academic success, etc. ・Chopsticks first prayer Hashizo-ji Temple is the temple where Daishi received a message from Konpira Daigongen saying, ``Let's save those who use chopsticks.'' ” and the “Chopsticks First Prayer” If you like it, please check and follow the following SNS accounts SNSもやっておりますのでよろしければフォローください。
