I got the drum track from YouTube page Drew's Metal Shed which can be found here -    • ACDC - Shoot To Thrill Drums   The song is arranged as 4 sections of Verse/Chorus followed by the part where it quiets down and then builds with Angus and his double stops. I left the double stops out so you could do them yourself. Stretch out and play your best Angus licks! A basic roadmap of scales that work with the song - Verse: A Mixolydian / D Major Pre-Chorus with C G chords: C Pentatonic Major / A Pentatonic Minor ("I'm gonna take you down") Pre-Chorus with D A chords: D Pentatonic Major / B Pentatonic Minor ("So don't you fool around") Chorus: A Pentatonic Major works. But Angus likes to play around with Pentatonic Major and Minor a lot when he solos. A general idea that works well for this song is to play A Pentatonic Major over the A and G chords. Then play A minor Pentatonic over the D chords. To simplify things, you could get away with playing A minor Pentatonic throughout the song. Or play the A Mixo-Dorian Blues Scale throughout! This is a hybrid of the blues scale, Dorian, and Mixolydian all in one. The notes of A Mixo-Dorian Blues Scale are A B C C# D Eb E F# G A The tracks were recorded with an HX Stomp. I used an Eastman T64 Hollow body guitar for Malcolm's tracks and it is panned far left. I used an Edwards ESP Tele for Angus's guitar tracks and it is panned far right . The "bass" was tracked with my Tele and dropped an octave with a plugin called Cockos ReaPitch. Hope you enjoy it!
