Keychron Q10 Sound Test - Amethyst (w/ Cherry ABS keycaps + Cherry PBT accents)

Another entry in a series where I try out various configurations with my Keychron Q10. (Part 8 of ?) -- MORE TO COME! Join me as I search for my favorite mechanical keyboard switches! Keyboard: Keychron Q10 Carbon Black (fully stock / unmodded) Switches: Ashkeebs Amethyst Keycaps: GMK Taro Clone (doubleshot ABS, cherry profile) CannonCaps Esper Accents (dye-sub PBT, cherry profile) Artisans: from Keycap Quarry, ResinRealm, Yunzii, and Zomoplus Cable: CableMod Pro Straight Aviator Cable (Midnight Black) Deskmat: YUNZII Desk Pad Mouse Mat -Starry (D) Microphone: Blue Yeti (w/ windscreen, ~8" above center of board Camera: Samsung Galaxy S22 On the Keycaps: Just like I wrote in the description of my last video, these are Aifei clones of a GMK keycap set. Much like those clones, I think these are quite good. I don't own a single GMK set, but these are doubleshot, thick-walled, and look nice to me in terms of color and legend quality. I enjoy the sound as well. My only issue with the set is that the spacebars I needed only came in the yellow accent color (perhaps my least favorite color). Thus, I am using the included OSA spacebars from Keychron. I may pick up the legit Cherry Taro PBT set from NovelKeys when it becomes available. We shall see! On the Switches: These switches were definitely a splurge. I bought a 100-pack of them off AliExpress, and applied a couple coupons as well. On a normal day, these go for about a dollar or more per switch... Ouch! I was drawn to these because of their appearance, as well as the TTC Holy Panda reputation (this is one of a couple of funky color variations). After trying a sample switch and loving the feel and sound, I had to type on them! They have been the main switches in my board ever since, and it's going to be hard to pull them out of the Q10 to test other switches on it - as I just love them so much! I'd put them a notch above the Ashkeebs Amethyst switches on my personal tier list (price aside). But for the price, the Amethyst is a MUCH better buy, and in my opinion is just about as good as these. On the Board: I still really love the Q10. It made me dislike normal layout keyboards for being uncomfortable to use (and got me to buy my recently-featured Feker Alice 80 board). My only regret is that I didn't wait a little bit to be able to get the purple variant that would release about 2 weeks post-launch. Sometimes I wish that they added more keys to it... But the truth is that it already has plenty. I don't even have 4 of my 5 macro keys assigned currently. And 88 is a good number of switches to need. That way you can buy 90 and have 2 extra just in case. Since recording this video, I've installed the Q10 Acoustic Upgrade Kit, which will be featured the next time I record a sound test on this board!
