The impact and success story of the Ghana Skills Development Initiative-2022

The video shed light on the impact of the Ghana Skills Development Initiative. To bridge the emerging skills gap and enhance employability, especially in the informal sector, the Government of Ghana launched the Ghana Skills Development Initiative (GSDI) in 2012. The project is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, with funding support from the EU and SECO, and in cooperation with the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) and other public and private stakeholders. GSDI seeks to improve the quality of TVET to enhance skills and qualifications as well as pursues the objective of providing demand-driven training to target groups, especially in the informal and agricultural sectors such as job-seeking youth, apprentices and workers and owners of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
