A Bespoke Electric Violin Build From Start To Finish

After 8 months of learning to play the acoustic violin, I had decided to look into the world of electric violins, but found most of the instruments to be very bland ‘solid blockular’ designs; with more desirable elegant violins coming with a matching elegant price tag. With all of the necessary design skills, passion and craftsmanship abilities, a good opportunity for a self-lead design project was created… This was certainly one of my more rewarding projects and lead to the creation of a very elegant and sophisticated electric violin; with streamlined fluidic lines sculpted into the body. The electric violin ultimately took about 2 months of spare time to build, and (as I already had most of the materials and tools) came in at a cost of around £92. At a later time I will be doing some demonstration videos of the violin being played so that you will be able to hear the quality of sound that is produced by the violin.
