Intro to Counted Cross Stitch 101 Video #2: Kitting Up Your Project : Learn How To Cross Stitch!

Beginners : You can learn to cross stitch in 10 videos! You'll begin by stitching a Mill Hill Buttons and Beads kit in a stitch along with me format. I will teach you commonly used cross stitching techniques using three super cute small projects (you pick your specific pattern) that you can stitch along with me, first on perforated paper, then on Aida, and lastly on linen or evenweave. I’ll discuss best practices that lead to stunning finished projects and will explain how and why they affect the quality of your work. More Experienced Stitchers: This is what I wish I had access to when I started watching FlossTube! This is a concise review of most cross stitching techniques along with explanations for why some stitching methods give better results. I’ll teach two handed stitching, will discuss the pros and cons of different types of frames and stands, and will teach you how to use a laying tool. I’ll discuss cross-country and row by row/column by column stitching and the techniques to consider using in both. I’ll show needle parking and stitching on the diagonal in the second part of the series and how stitching sampler style on linen is different than full coverage on Aida in the third.
