Food Safety on Wheels | Ensuring food safety in every corner

In Assam, ensuring food safety is a growing concern and the Commissionerate of Food Safety Assam along with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, is taking strikes towards this goal. Introducing Food Safety on Wheels, a mobile laboratory equipped perform simple tests for edible oils, sweets, and other food items. These tests instill confidence among consumers that the food they eat is safe and free from contamination. These units also play a crucial role in raising awareness about food safety and hygiene among citizens. They conduct training and certification programs for food business operators, the general public and students, ensuring that everyone is well informed about food safety practices. By inaugurating new 17 Food Safety on Wheels vans on 25th February, 2024, we have reached a total of 23 units operating across different districts of Assam.
