Low tide Welsh OCTOPUS and another foraged beach feast with Craig Evans

A bright Winters day on a beautiful beach on the Gower penisula in South West Wales. A few days earlier the temperature was around -6 to -7 degrees C ,It was 3 degrees C on the day (4 March 2018). Myself and my son Dafydd cook a foraged meal of Native oysters, scallops, cockles other clams, limpets ,dog whelks, winkles and Velvet swimming crabs.I made a sauce at home with white wine, cream and pureed onions. I precooked the noodles. I also roasted sugar kelp until it became crisp and brittle. I foraged wild garlic, wild chives and primrose flowers. I must add that I foraged the Oyster ,Scallop ,Cockles and clams in Pembrokeshire the previous day. I have highlighted the word octopus because I have only ever caught 2 live specimens in all my foraging career. The clip of the octopus was filmed 2 weeks previous to the rest of the film, but at the exact same location. There is no sound on the clip as it was filmed on my faulty mobile phone. You will see that "Llew" appears to try to eat the octopus,he doesn't eat it ,he is just very curious. I accidentally said that the sweet powder on the sugar kelp was "sorbitol" ,It is in fact a very similar natural sugar called "Mannitol"
