This song, MY GIRL, featured the reunited Counts with singers *Ron Ownbey, *Baxter Harrill, *Robert Caldwell and *Steve Brittain. Additional vocalists included Jim and Luther Blair and guest singer Marti Wetzell Sell. The Counts band originally formed as an instrumental group in 1962 and added vocalists in 1963. Reunion band members for this song included: *Mike Gunter, bass; *Jim Blair, guitar; *Luther Blair, drums; David Floyd, keyboard; Jim Monroe and Doug Burns, trumpets; Tyrone Jefferson, trombone; *John Alexander, alto sax; *Eddie Blair, tenor sax & Ed Crotts, baritone sax. Five reunited bands that were widely popular in the Southeast U.S. during the 1960s and '70s participated in this memorable show. Performing bands included The Original Spontanes, The Counts, Image, The Fabulous Flares/Flares II and Gaston. A number of the reunion musicians had not performed together in over 40 years.
