The heart of bullet train project Bullet train project is a 508 km long high speed railway corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The project starts from the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai and ends at Sabarmati station in Ahmedabad. This project consists of a variety of features such as under sea tunnel, underground station, Shinkansen technology based signalling system, aerodynamic design and advanced Telecommunication systems. The bullet train passes through 12 stations in Gujarat and Maharashtra with the speed of 350 kmph. The most interesting parts of the project are the BKC station and the undersea tunnel. MEIL is executing the BKC station, which is India’s first underground bullet train railway station. The high speed rail corridor will pass through Thane Creek in Mumbai. Since this area is a protected sanctuary for flamingo and nearby mangroves, rail tracks will be made undersea through a tunnel, thus ensuring no disturbance to existing ecosystem. This tunnel will be first undersea tunnel of India. This massive Bullet train project will boost the trade, transport and economy of India and saves the time of commuters exponentially.
