Running a VR Arcade: Employee Floor Positions & Responsibilities | Virtual Reality Tips

Ashley Henson, Store Manager at Upward VR, gives in-depth analysis and reveals first-hand challenges that come with opening and operating a VR Arcade. [Begin Transcript] One of the most important things that we do specifically when we schedule our employees is on weekends we are super busy and so we have two different types of jobs that employees do. They're either scheduled as the host or the roamer. The host works as a person that greets the people. They run the demo. They check them out on our checkout system. Then the roamer is the person that actually takes them back to the station, sets them up, answers any questions and then the rest of the time their role is just literally walking around and watching people play and making sure that they're not stuck on anything or have any questions. Which once again goes back to the customer experience. Like never is someone stuck in a game trying to figure something out. We have people that are quick and right there to be able to be like, "Oh, I see you're stuck here. All you got to do is pick this up or shoot at this." I think that's one of the number one keys that we have, is host and roamer responsibilities, so you're splitting it up versus walking around, crazy, distracted.
