USS Croaker S-246 EMD Diesel Engine Room. 3 of the 4 EMD's have heads removed. Buffalo Naval Park has audio of running engine sounds to help relive the memories. Navy as QMC for WW2 & Korea a full 20 years. He first proposed the USS Croaker as a submarine museum. He also helped source the USS Nautilus now in Groton,CT. Frank Scheetz founded and was President of the Submarine Memorial Association. As I visit the park I take new videos and hope to see improvements to USS Croaker SS-246, in Wisconsin the USS Cobia launched a month before SS-245 is also on display. The USS Croaker would have looked like the USS Cobia before her conversion to a SSK. Hopefully the Croaker will be restored new like the USS Cod.
