Today we're taking a look at an Optronics LED trailer combination tail light. This square LED combo trailer tail light serves seven functions. So with this light you get a stop light, turn signal, tail light, you have your rear reflector, side marker and side reflector, and then you have your license plate illuminator which illuminates a license plate that would be mounted directly below this driver's side light. It does have the built-in reflex reflector, which removes the need for a separate reflector. It's completely sealed, so it does feature a waterproof construction that is submersible. It features the durable SMD construction of the LED circuit board that's designed to better withstand shock and vibration and allow for improved heat distribution. That LED's make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, and they're much more efficient. With LED's you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. We're looking at a really nice molded plastic housing with the acrylic lens, it's compatible with 12 volt DC electrical systems, it's a stud mount installation, so you have your mounting studs and it does come with brand new hardware. Three wire design for this unit, so your white wire has a ring terminal on there, that's your ground wire. Brown wire is for the tail lights, or running lights, and then yellow is for stop and turn. It's Department of Transportation compliant. Again, this is for the driver's side of the trailer. If you need one for the passenger side, it's available with part number STL38RB.When it comes to the dimensions, we'll take a look at those and then we'll hook it up to power so you can see what it looks like with power running to it. Edge to edge going this direction we're looking at about five inches wide. Top to bottom, we're looking at about four and a half inches. Front to back, we're looking at about two and a half inches. The distance that we have between our mounting studs, these are separated on center by two inches. We're gonna go ahead a hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. All right, so this is the tail light function of the unit. When we have that all wired up, you can see that we have our license plate illuminator there. Clear lens on the bottom with some white LED's. Does a great job at illuminating a license plate mounted below this tail light. Really nice design, multi-diode design. That means that it has multiple LED's or multiple diodes, that really helps optimize the overall light output. When we apply our brakes, you can see how that signal out put increases, does that same thing when we activate our turn signals. And when it comes to the power draw, at 12.8 volts, we're looking at 0.19 amps for the stop and turn and 0.065 amps for the marker. Also, Optronics puts a lifetime warrantee on their LED's. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics LED trailer combination tail light.
