November 21 1997 NBA Coverage

Ernie Johnson takes you through the NBA Action from November 21st, 1997, early into the 97-98 season. 0:09 Shaquille O'Neal re-aggravated his abdominal injury on the 19th against the T-Wolves. Lakers were 10-0 to start the season and would win the following game but lose the next one against the Heat without Shaq to start the season 11-1. 0:26 Isiah Thomas's resignation as GM and Executive Vice President of the Toronto Raptors. Isiah would also have to sell his 9% of ownership in the team, one he was influential in bringing into the NBA. Thomas stated regrets getting involved in ownership. Glen Grunwald would take over, and both would in the future work for the Knicks. Thomas was an absolute trainwreck in New York, while Grunwald was actually competent, until James Dolan shoved him out the door after two consecutive winning seasons, the last ones I would see until 2021. Dolan replaced him with Steve Mills, "whose tenure defined New York's spiral into an NBA punchline". CBS Sport's words, not mine. 1:25 New Jersey Nets vs Boston Celtics first half highlights.
