Taken from chapter 54. The final chapter. In this excerpt, after all the events that transpired in this novel, we cut to our good friend, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who's living his exile on Tatooine. Obi-Wan has aged prematurely. The only reason he's on Tatooine is to watch over Luke until the time is right to train him. Obi-Wan is at a cantina on Anchorhead, trying to stay hydrated on a hot and humid planet. A holo-net news broadcast plays, and he listens. He finds out that they're Jedi who survived Order 66 and had met up all on Kashyyyk, which had been destroyed by the Empire. Obi-Wan isn't happy with this news, as he and Yoda had changed the message for all surviving Jedi to go into hiding. Shortly after, he sees a black figure and asks a local from Mos Eisley who the figure is. He tells Obi-Wan that the black figure is Lord Vader. This news surprises Obi-Wan causing him to pass out for a bit. The man helps Obi-Wan by buying him a drink and asks the owner for more water. Obi-Wan then wakes up then asks the man if he knows anything about Vader. The man explains to Obi-Wan what he heard about Vader from a friend. Shortly after, the man leaves, but before he does, he tells Obi-Wan to take care of himself. I don't care what anyone says, but this is the REAL and CANON way how Obi-Wan finds out that Anakin survived. #starwars #obiwankenobi #darthvader
