Dharmadhenu-श्रद्धा-shraddha-अपरोक्षानुभूतिःaparokṣānubhūti-Class-52.Sl.142-144/144-By V.Subramanian Aparokshanubhuti, or Direct Experience of the Absolute is an introductory work by Adi Shankaracharya that expounds Advaita Vedanta philosophy. Aparoksha refers to the ‘nearest of the near’, one’s Self. Anubhuti means to realize, to experience. So the word means “Self-realization.” Such realization, unlike the knowledge of objects through sense-perception or inference, is an immediate and direct perception of one’s own Self, which is here indicated by the word Aparoksha. The central theme of the book is the identity between Jivatman (individual Self) and Paramatman (Universal Self)
