Clarke and Gentry Lee. More specifically, Rama is an adaptation of the Rama sequel trilogy, which includes Rama II, The Garden of Rama, and Rama Revealed. While the game only takes place during the time-frame of Rama II, various elements from the other two books are included or referenced in the game. The Rama sequels were widely criticized for being overly verbose and padded with uninteresting melodrama, despite having interesting sci-fi ideas and concepts. Fortunately, this video game adaptation places the emphasis on the latter, and most of the soap opera drama has been removed from the story. Sierra did an absolutely wonderful job working with Arthur C. Clarke and Gentry Lee to bring the Rama world to life.
