Staying hydrated is among the most important aspects of bike touring, and here in the arid southwest, it can be challenging. In rural areas, stores are often far apart, and there are rarely any streams or rivers to filter from. After some trial and a lot of errors, I have developed a way to figure out how much water to carry for those long stretches between refill spots.
