Tie rod ends are the crucial components that connect your steering rack & pinion to your steering knuckle. Your Volvo's tie rods pull and push the wheels in the direction you want. Over time, the ball joints on the end of the outer tie rods will start to wear out and develop play. This play can attribute to loose steering, misalignment, and vagueness. Additionally, the protective rubber on the ball joints can also fail allowing water and dirt into the ball joint. If you see a tear in the rubber we recommend replacing immediately.
