Nioh 2 - Quick Guide on Demon Scrolls (Demon Parade/Scroll of the Demon)

**Answered Questions*** --- How do you share scrolls? Equipped scrolls have a high chance of being shared. The host has the highest chance to share. In expedition you can just beat a scroll repeatedly and it will drop at some point; it’s RNG based. --- How do you get rid of scrolls? You can get rid of scrolls by dropping or destroying from your item inventory or equipment menus. *** In this short guide I regurgitate all my known information (as of update 1.14) on Demon Picture Scrolls in what is hopefully in an intelligible format. It should be noted though, all this information is subject to change with later updates. I hope this guide is helpful. If you feel I have gotten something wrong here, please leave a comment or contact me on Discord. *Background footage is basically a preview for a build I'm working on. There are very helpful spreadsheets created by the community.   / discord   Transcript (Rough): "Welcome to my quick guide on Demon Scrolls. All information here is post update 1.14. If I have any information wrong here, please let me know and I’ll clarify in the description below. Types of Scrolls Scrolls come in two types: 1. Demon Parade Picture Scrolls 2. Scroll of the Demon They both have an item level range of 150-180. Both can drop as Exotic or Divine They can be obtained and shared through coop, or drop randomly from enemies. Scrolls drop with their information hidden. Beating the scroll purifies it, revealing its information. The recommended level cap for Demon Parade is 236 (+20) The recommended level cap for Scroll of the Demon is 373 (+20) However, these caps will change in subsequent updates. Scroll Transference Scroll transference is used to upgrade the recommended levels, the item level, and the rarity of scrolls. All three effect the values of your potential drops. Demon parade scrolls cannot be used to upgrade the recommended level of Scroll of the Demon and vice versa You have to use the same type of scroll to upgrade that trait In order to raise the rarity of a scroll, you need the “Rarity transference” effect on the scroll you’re using to upgrade it. As seen here. You can do this with either type of scroll. You cannot upgrade non +20 scrolls to +20 scrolls. But you can upgrade +20 scrolls with non +20 scrolls So if you wanted a 373 (+20), you take a lower (+20) and upgrade it with a 373. However, be aware when trying to upgrade a +20 scroll with a +20 scroll, sometimes it will not upgrade its recommended level all the way. Keep an eye out for that, I think it’s a bug. Scroll Effects Scrolls come with 1 innate effect, and 2 rollable effects When sharing online, whatever stats the original scroll had, will be the version shared. In order to change effects, you must beat the scroll. Upon completion you can roll one of the bottom two slots. If you run out of attempts, you can use Hundred Night Incense to add more attempts to the scroll. Obtaining incense is easiest in doing expeditions with others. Every potential effect has universal value caps shared between all scrolls. However, I think each specific scroll has caps on certain effects within the scroll itself. So my rule of thumb is, if I see a very low stat of a specific effect I want on a specific scroll, chances are it will unable to roll the max value of that effect. I have been unable to prove or disprove this idea, as the deviation of values are not shared between effects. Scroll Upgrade Paths Are Static Your scroll effect options are predetermined, baked into the scroll itself, with the same effect values, even when shared in coop. So if you keep track of the changes you make on a scroll, all the way up until you’ve reached all your desired effects, you can share the scroll online with someone, let them know your upgrade path, and they will be able to replicate your results exactly. So if you plan an making a badass scroll, and would like to share it, keep track of the path you take. I hope this guide has been instructive. If you would like to me to do other guides, please recommend what you’d like me to cover below."
