I wanted to share a video with you of one of my favorite up and coming pianists, Tiffany Poon. Here she is practicing the second movement of Beethoven’s 18th Piano Sonata. Beethoven wrote 32 piano sonatas, and his 18th is often referred to as “The Hunt” - it is my favorite. Furthermore, I can actually play the second movement of it although not nearly as well as she does. I thought it would be interesting for you to see how a professional concert pianist does their final preparations the day before for the concert. She is way more patient than I am when I practice. I often cuss, bang my head on the keys, throw the music across the room, and sometimes clear the top of the piano with my forearm. The worst she does is make a face.
