Celebrity Solstice Alaska Cruise | Skagway Vlog | Gold Panning in Alaska

Join us as we visit Skagway! It was an 8am meet in the theatre for our 'Big Nugget' shore excursion. We hopped on a bus which took us to where the whole day took place. To start the day we were told all about the history of the gold rush and how they found gold. I have more parts videoed but didn't want to include everything to spoil it for anyone else going on the tour. After we saw all of the machines it was then time to learn about the Iditarod and the dog sledging. We learnt all about the history of Iditarod and the sleighs and what they wear and eat. Then we actually got to meet some of the dogs and see them run round. We then got to hold the puppies which was very cute (apologies for my annoying dog mum voice when getting to stroke them!). After that it was time to learn about gold panning and have a go ourself. This was really fun, although I struggled at the start as I didn't want to lose all of my gold! After you've done the gold panning experience you go and weigh your gold. Anyone want to guess how much mine and my partners gold = in $? Comment below :) We then bought one of the best tasting cookies I've had in my life and had a bbq lunch which was provided in our shore excursion. After the lunch we had a camp fire and some s'mores as a nice treat (although I am really not a fan of Hersheys chocolate). We then went and looked round Skagway which is just so cool as the store fronts look so interesting. We went round a few streets and shops and then headed back to the ship. Once on board we had a chill got some hot chocolate and watched as we sailed away from Skagway. Then it was time for dinner which was lovely again and then we just had some cocktails (as they're included in the zero proof package) and played some card games.
