Rematching DT Kirby's Food Challenge That Has Haunted Me for Years!!

A&Z #1073 - Professional eater Randy Santel versus DT Kirby's "Recipe for Disaster" Street Food Challenge hosted by DT Kirby's in downtown Lafayette, Indiana!! I finished up my dietetic internship on May 19th, 2022 and ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬ and I knew we were leaving for Dublin, Ireland on June 7, 2022 to begin our international travel plans. Before leaving, we wanted to attempt 12 food challenges around 6 midwestern USA states. For event #8 of 12, I headed to downtown Lafayette, Indiana so I could rematch the massive "Recipe for Disaster" Street Food Challenge at DT Kirby's which I failed to complete when I was there back in 2019. I had just 35 minutes to feast on an appetizer, burger, hot dog, and sandwich of my choosing, served with sides of fries, chips, and onion rings. The food challenge includes a 1-liter glass stein of Chicago's "Old Style" beer and if challengers don't finish everything within 35 minutes, but are close, the kitchen brings out a "reliever" (extra food) which is what caused me to fail back in 2019. You then get 10 more minutes (45 minutes total) to finish the base challenge plus the extra special burger item. I ran out of time last time, but this time I was back and feeling much better, ready to dominate and win my meal free plus a sweet t-shirt, a spot on the Wall of Fame, and most importantly, I would actually win the $500-value customized Squatch USA can crusher I was given back in 2019 for trying the challenge. You must choose an appetizer and then a burger, sandwich, and hot dog. There are 4-5 options for each category and the three entrees each come with a side. You get sides of fries, hand-cut crispy chips, and onion rings. You must also finish a mandatory 1-liter glass of Old Style Beer which originated in Chicago, Illinois. There is a 35 minute time limit to finish everything and get the meal free, a sweet t-shirt, and a $500-value customized can crusher made by Squatch USA (prize no longer available). You also get on the Wall of Fame if you have a top 5 finishing time. At the 35 minute mark, if they think you might finish in less than 45 minutes, they bring in a "reliever" which is a 1-1.5 lb item that contains a 1/2 pound beef burger patty.
