Amid the unending tension in the Middle East, speculation about a nuclear test by Iran has surfaced online, reported The Cradle. This comes after a 4.5-magnitude seismic event occurred in Iran’s Semnan province, sparking speculation. Hypotheses are being made that Iran’s first nuclear test is in response to Israel's threats to bomb Tehran’s nuclear energy and oil facilities. Citing Iranian sources, The Cradle reported that a nuclear test was indeed conducted and is being discussed at high levels in Iran. Meanwhile, statements of Indian Defence Experts are doing rounds on the Internet after the reports. In a podcast with ANI, Ex-Army Raj Shukla stated that Iran has been trying to engage Israel in ground invasion purposely. Lt Gen Raj Shukla said that Iran has been doing so to get “breathing time” for a nuclear weapon test. Earlier on October 5, former US President Trump suggested that Joe Biden consider hitting Iran’s nuclear sites. This came amid Israel's plan to target Iranian oil bases in response to Iran's ballistic missile attacks on October 1. In response to Iran’s attack, the IDF warned Iran of “severe consequences,” intensifying its ground and aerial operations in Lebanon.
