Lossy DNG is a universal raw format that uses JPG-style compression intelligently to maintain your shadows and highlights that JPG files would normally remove. Lossy DNG minimizes traditional JPG artifacts, too. Lossy DNG isn't the right choice for all pictures, but if you're like me, you have thousands of raw pictures that you don't want to delete, but that you don't need to be completely perfect.
