Dear Mets: STOP DOING THIS!! IT'S SOOOOO ANNOYING!!

Step 1: Use code ZACK15 for 15% off tickets on SeatGeek: https://seatgeek.onelink.me/RrnK/ZACK15 Step 2: acquire earplugs before heading to Citi Field. Why? Well first of all, there's a never-ending flow of big-ass airplanes flying overhead to and from LaGuardia. I won't blame current Mets ownership for the unfortunate luck of having the stadium located in an idiotic spot, but take my word for it. It's rough. Secondly (and this is the thing that REALLY drives me crazy), there are often long stretches during games when the Mets blast music and sound effects after EVERY DAMN PITCH, especially when their own players are at bat. It's not fun. It's just painful and dreadfully predictable so here's a more specific plea: Dear Steve Cohen: make it stop! Please, I'm begging you! You have the power to do this. Baseball fans are not toddlers. We don't need artificial stimulants to keep us engaged. Your team is great. Baseball in Queens is exciting, and thanks to the pitch clock, games move faster. If, on occasion, the pace slows down, so what? That's the beauty of this bless'd sport. Allow your fans to enjoy a serene moment once in a while. I promise that attendance won't suffer, and the overall experience at the stadium will improve. There really ARE times when less is more. I suppose that's a silly thing to say to someone who's worth $21.3 billion, but take my word for it. Make your stadium more relaxing and less of a carnival, and let the action on the field speak for itself. (And by the way, while I have your attention, the gate opening times at Citi Field really suck. Ninety minutes? What is that nonsense? Your passionate fans don't even get to see their own players take batting practice because the visitors are already out there by the time people run inside. Can you do something about this too, please? I'm guessing you can afford to pay your staff more to show up earlier, so whaddaya say? You have all the money in the world; why not become the most beloved professional sport team owner in the world too?) Thanks and LFGM! Anyway, I had party deck tickets at this game which meant (a) being in a great spot to catch home runs and (b) free foooooood! It was a really fun night (despite the relentless assault perpetrated on my eardrums). Pete Alonso went yard and had five RBI's, and rookie sensation Luisangel Acuña also had a huge game including his first MLB homer (which I sorta-almost-but-not-really caught). This game took place on September 17, 2024, and the video was filmed and edited by Rachel Messbauer. Thanks for watching!
