Very textured and elegant. //// Instructions for The Crossed Over Rib Hat Crossed Over Rib Hat The stitch is a multiple of 2. Repeat from * to Cast on 89 stitches and work on 2 x 2 ribbing: for 8 rows 1.- *p2, k2 end with p1. 2.- k1, *p2, k2*. Change to rib stitch: Row 1.- *slide 1 stitch knitwise, knit next stitch from the front and the back, pass the slid stitch over the last 2 stitches* Row 2.- purl Repeat these 2 rows for pattern. Until you have 6 1/2 to 7 inches from the beginning, including ribbing part. Take off rows: Only on the right side of the hat. The wrong side, you purl as usual. 1.- *Slide 1 stitch knitwise, knit next stitch from the front and the back, pass the slid stitch over the last 2 stitches, 2 times. Next, you slide 1, knit 1 and pass the slid stitch over the last one*. Repeat to the end of the row= 75 2.- *Slide 1 stitch knitwise, knit next stitch from the front and the back, pass the slid stitch over the last 2 stitches, once. Next, you slide 1, knit 2 and pass the slid stitch over the last 2*. Repeat to the end of the row= 60 3.- *Slide 1 stitch knitwise, knit next stitch from the front and the back, pass the slid stitch over the last 2 stitches, once. Next, you slide 1, knit 1 and pass the slid stitch over the last one*. Repeat to the end of the row= 45 4.- *Slide 1stitch knitwise, knit 2 and pass the slid stitch over the last 2*. Repeat to the end of the row= 30 5.- *Slide 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1 and pass the slid stitch over the last one=15 6.- *Slide 1stitch knitwise, knit 2 and pass the slid stitch over the last 2*. Repeat to the end of the row= 10 7.- *Slide 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1 and pass the slid stitch over the last one=5 Cut yarn, leaving long tail. Pass throug the remaining stitches, make small knot and sew from top to bottom until you get to the ribbing. Use beginning yarn to sew up.
