How can security institutions ensure equal access to safety and justice? How can they guarantee equal rights and opportunities to women and men within their staff? Through the story of local police overseeing the construction of a bridge in a village, this short DCAF, OSCE/ODIHR and UN Women film shows how a better understanding of different people’s needs ensures effective security and justice for all the population. By applying a gender perspective, security and justice institutions can understand how men and women can have different security and justice needs, take steps to meet those needs, and include both women and men in security and justice institutions and decision-making.
