An awesome 12au7 tube boost pedal: Hagerman VALVE

In this episode of Vox Friendly Pedals, we are checking out the Hagerman VALVE tube boost pedal with a Vox AC15c1. The Hagerman Valve in built in Hawaii by Jim Hagerman. He's been making pedals since 1982, and has quite the lineup of very cool pedals and amps in his roster. The Valve is Jim's take on the starved plate/starved heater from the Matsumi Valvecaster. Where the original pedal failed, Hagerman managed to make it work. Using a single 12AU7 preamp tube from Electro-Harmonix, the Valve gets rich tube driven harmonics that is very hard to get with this type of design. The Hagerman Valve works great anywhere in your signal chain. You can place it before your overdrive to boost the input, or place it after to get a nice, harmonically filled volume boost.
