49. Sailing a Catalina 22 in Key Largo, FL 2019. Filmed May 14-19, 2019. We saw an ad for "Key Lime Sailing Club & Cottages" in a sailing forum. A Catalina 22 sailboat was included in the cottage rental. We had to try it. And we are so glad we did. We were planning on going back, then the pandemic hit. This adventure gave us the opportunity to sail another boat. The outboard took some getting used to. The retractable keel allowed us to go where we could never go with our 28 footer. We also got to experience the Florida keys...it's like the Caribbean mon! KLSC also had a Hobie cat and a Sunfish to sail. They also had kayaks and canoes. The highlight was taking two kayaks in the Catalina 22 and sail to a mangrove forest ...two adventures in one! There was also a selection of bicycles to pick from, but none that gave us confidence for a long ride. The nearby Publix Super Market also had a great selection of ready-to-eat meals.
